1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the SmartDocumentScanner Android application (the "App") and accessing our website (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App or Site.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SmartDocumentScanner ("we", "us", or "our").

2. Description of Service

SmartDocumentScanner is an Android application that enables users to scan physical documents using their device's camera, enhance images, and export them as PDF files.

All document processing occurs locally on your device. We do not provide cloud-based document storage or processing services.

The App is available in two tiers:

• Free – Supported by advertisements (banner and rewarded interstitial ads).
• Premium – Ad-free experience with instant PDF creation, available via a monthly subscription through Google Play Billing.

3. User Accounts

You may use the App without creating an account. However, a Google account sign-in is required to purchase and sync a Premium subscription across devices.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You must provide accurate and complete information when signing in. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Premium Subscription: The Premium tier is offered as an auto-renewing monthly subscription priced at £1.99 per month (or local equivalent). Prices are subject to change with notice.

Payment Processing: All payments are processed through Google Play Billing. We do not store your payment card details.

Billing Cycle: Your subscription will automatically renew each month unless you cancel it through the Google Play Store at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Google Play Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds: Refunds are handled in accordance with Google Play's refund policies. Contact Google Play Support for refund requests.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the App to scan, create, store, or distribute illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or infringing content.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise extract the source code of the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality, servers, or networks.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to access the App or Site without authorisation.
• Circumvent any paywall, advertisement, or subscription mechanism.

6. Intellectual Property

Ownership: The App, Site, and all related content, design, code, trademarks, and logos are the exclusive property of SmartDocumentScanner and its licensors.

Your Content: You retain ownership of all documents and images you create using the App. You grant us no rights or licenses to your content.

License to You: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on your Android device.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App and Site are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• The results obtained from using the App will be accurate, reliable, or suitable for your intended purpose.
• Any defects in the App will be corrected.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SmartDocumentScanner and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the App or Site.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50 if you have not made any payments.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SmartDocumentScanner and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through in-app notices.

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
